Best song ever?

As I listened to the radio last night after driving home from school I decided to list my top ten songs of all time. It was more difficult that I originally thought so I had to make it 12 with one special award for understandability. Some of these will come as no surprise to my family since I will play them on the guitar all the time.

Obviously, this is just a sampling of my favorites and there many more that could have made the list but for the passage of time, dimming of memory and the influx of a lot of really lame songs and singers (as apparent each week on American Idol) that tend to obscure the really good songs.

13. Eddie Money – Take me home tonight (award for being the catchiest song that I have a hard time understanding, Aha gets a close second here)

12. Huey Lewis and the News – Power of Love

11. Ricky Nelson – Mary Lou

10. John Denver- Wild Montana Skies (and many other John Denver songs go here)

Where the heck did you grow up? Whitesnake? Eddie Money? Blues Traveller?! I guess I might be embarassed if you ever looked at my itunes account. And watch it with the comments about American Idol. It's the only show we get excited about. Plus there's a kid from our ward last year that made it through to Hollywood. So cool!

I'm glad to see Bon Jovi and John Denver made it to your list. By the way, Dad's hoping to hear some "San Francisco Bay Blues" on your guitar in the near future.

Most of all, THANK YOU... for the lovely trip down MST3K memory lane. I truly miss Joel. Remember when we attached this song to Grandma's escape button...??

OK. I guess it's obvious what MST3K song is on the top of Karina's and my best song ever list.

My top MST3K songs include The Servo Academy Men's Chorus, the "Refuling" song, the Mitchell soundtrack and "Poopy suit." All the classics.

"How do you take your scotch?"
"By the quart. I usually have a ding dong with that..."

"Don't crap in your hand, crap in your poopy suit!"

I don't remember a "refueling" song, but I do remember a LOT of GREAT jokes during the "Starfighters" refueling scene. Lots of great stuff on YouTube. I lost an entire evening and scared most of my offspring reliving those good ol' MST days...
